  1. Evaluate and diagnose patients with colorectal conditions, including performing physical examinations and ordering diagnostic tests.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients based on their individual needs, utilizing the latest evidence-based practices.
  3. Perform surgical procedures for colorectal conditions, including but not limited to, colonoscopies, colectomies, and ostomy placement.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, oncologists, and gastroenterologists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Stay up-to-date on advancements and best practices in the field of colorectal surgery, participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  6. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients, addressing their concerns and educating them about their condition and treatment options.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records for patients, including progress notes, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  8. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards set forth by the medical industry and Prisma Health.
  9. Supervise and educate medical residents, students, and other healthcare professionals on the principles and practices of colorectal surgery.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  13. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
  14. Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote awareness and prevention of colorectal conditions.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification: Applicants Must Be Board Certified In Colorectal Surgery By The American Board Of Surgery Or The American Board Of Colon And Rectal Surgery.

  • Medical Degree: Candidates Must Have A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Residency Training: A Completed Residency In General Surgery, Followed By A Fellowship In Colorectal Surgery Is Required.

  • State Medical License: Applicants Must Possess A Valid And Unrestricted Medical License To Practice In The State Of South Carolina.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Colorectal Surgery Is Preferred, With Demonstrated Proficiency In Minimally Invasive Techniques And Complex Procedures.
