- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for young patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
- Provide ongoing psychiatric care and medication management for children and adolescents.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and members of the multidisciplinary team to provide integrated and holistic care for young patients.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry to continually improve patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to educate them about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other necessary records.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of mental health care for children and adolescents.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality and evidence-based care.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for other healthcare professionals, including residents and fellows, in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
- Continuously work towards fostering a safe and supportive environment for young patients seeking mental health services.
- Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and other team meetings as required.
Medical Degree: A Physician - Child Psychiatrist At Prisma Health Must Hold A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Completion Of Residency And Fellowship Programs: The Candidate Should Have Completed A Residency Program In General Psychiatry And A Fellowship Program In Child And Adolescent Psychiatry.
Board Certification: The Candidate Must Be Board-Certified In Both General Psychiatry And Child And Adolescent Psychiatry By The American Board Of Psychiatry And Neurology (Abpn).
State Medical License: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid And Unrestricted Medical License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing.
Experience With Pediatric Population: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Children And Adolescents, As Well As Knowledge Of Developmental And Behavioral Disorders Specific To This Age Group.
