- Perform blood draws and collect other specimens from patients in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
- Follow proper protocols and maintain a sterile environment to prevent contamination.
- Label and process collected specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of specimens and patient information for proper tracking and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and healthcare professionals to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to specimens or equipment.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering necessary supplies for the phlebotomy department.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care.
- Serve as a positive and professional representative of Prisma Health in all interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work in different shifts and locations as needed.
- Adhere to Prisma Health's mission, vision, and values in all aspects of the job.
Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program Or Certification In Phlebotomy.
At Least 1 Year Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Phlebotomy.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Team Members.
Ability To Handle And Prioritize Multiple Tasks In A Fast-Paced Environment While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
