- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and in working order.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining a sterile field in the operating room.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures and provide necessary equipment and supplies in a timely manner.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and advancements in surgical technology and equipment.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient care and customer service by providing compassionate and high-quality service to all patients.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude, promoting teamwork and a supportive work environment.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Educational Requirement To Be Considered For The Periop Technician Position At Prisma Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Level Of Academic Competency And Ability To Follow Instructions.
Previous Healthcare Experience: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Perioperative Services, Is Highly Desirable For The Periop Technician Role. This Experience Shows Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Equipment, As Well As An Understanding Of Infection Control Protocols.
Cpr Certification: A Current Cpr Certification Is Required For The Periop Technician Position At Prisma Health. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Lifesaving Techniques And Can Respond To Emergencies In The Perioperative Setting.
Attention To Detail: The Periop Technician Is Responsible For Setting Up And Maintaining The Sterile Field In The Operating Room. Therefore, Attention To Detail Is A Critical Qualification For This Job. The Candidate Must Be Able To Follow Instructions Precisely And Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure A Safe And Sterile Surgical Environment.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Of The Operating Room.
