
Pediatric Speech Pathologist Ambulatory

- Conduct speech and language assessments for pediatric patients to identify communication disorders and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address speech and language goals for pediatric patients.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate progress to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and innovative techniques to improve patient outcomes.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Educate and involve parents and caregivers in the treatment process to promote carryover of skills outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with patients and their families.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure high-quality care and efficient operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on current trends and advancements in pediatric speech therapy.
- Demonstrate a commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse patient populations.
Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited University. This Degree Ensures That The Candidate Has Received The Necessary Education And Training In Speech And Language Disorders In Children.
Certification From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha): Asha Certification Is A Requirement For Many Pediatric Speech Pathologist Positions, Including At Prisma Health. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Rigorous Academic And Clinical Standards Set By The Asha.
State Licensure: Candidates Should Hold A Valid State License To Practice As A Speech-Language Pathologist. This License Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The State's Requirements For Education And Clinical Experience.
Experience Working With Pediatric Patients: Prisma Health Is Seeking Candidates With Experience Working With Pediatric Patients, Preferably In An Ambulatory Care Setting. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Assess, Diagnose, And Treat Speech And Language Disorders In Children.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology. This Includes Knowledge Of Various Assessment And Treatment Techniques For A Range Of Speech And Language Disorders In Children.
