- Conduct thorough patient financial screenings to determine eligibility for financial assistance programs.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and billing processes, and assist in resolving any billing or insurance issues.
- Work closely with insurance companies and third-party payers to verify coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Accurately enter and maintain patient financial information in electronic health records and billing systems.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care and financial assistance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, providing compassionate and empathetic support.
- Advocate for patients to receive the financial assistance they need to access necessary medical treatment.
- Continuously update knowledge of healthcare finance regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other team members to resolve any billing or financial concerns.
- Identify and report any potential billing or coding errors to the appropriate parties for resolution.
- Assist patients in setting up payment plans and providing guidance on managing medical expenses.
- Ensure all financial records and documentation are accurate, organized, and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline and improve the patient financial assistance process.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the patient experience and financial assistance processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Administration, Finance, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Healthcare Billing And Collections.
Strong Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations And Compliance.
Proficiency In Medical Billing Software And Microsoft Office Suite.
