
Patient Care Technician - Medical ICU

- Provide compassionate and exceptional care to patients in the Medical ICU unit.
- Assist medical staff in the care of critically ill patients.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels.
- Assist with patient mobility and positioning to prevent complications and improve comfort.
- Administer basic medical treatments, such as wound care, medication administration, and basic first aid.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, following all infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff to ensure a high level of care is provided.
- Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Continuously strive for excellence in patient care and actively seek ways to improve processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by being a team player and actively participating in team building activities.
Certification: A Valid Certification As A Patient Care Technician (Pct) Or Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Is A Must For This Role. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Quality Patient Care.
Experience: Previous Experience Working In A Medical Intensive Care Unit (Icu) Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Handle Critical Care Situations And Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
Knowledge Of Medical Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Procedures And Terminology, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information. This Knowledge Is Essential For Providing Safe And Effective Care To Patients In The Icu.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: The Role Of A Patient Care Technician In The Medical Icu Requires Collaboration With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Doctors, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Teamwork And Communication Skills Are Crucial For Effective Patient Care And A Positive Work Environment.
Compassion And Empathy: Working In The Medical Icu Can Be Emotionally Taxing, And The Candidate Must Possess Strong Compassion And Empathy Towards Critically Ill Patients.
