In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting our patients and healthcare professionals by providing direct patient care and assisting with various tasks to ensure the smooth operations of our unit.   1. Provide direct patient care: The Nursing Specialty Tech (NST) will be responsible for providing direct care to patients in the Emergency Room - Behavioral Health unit.
  2. Assist with tasks: The NST will assist with various tasks such as taking vital signs, monitoring patients, and helping with patient mobility.
  3. Ensure smooth operations of the unit: The NST will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operations of the unit by assisting with tasks and providing support to healthcare professionals.
  4. Demonstrate compassion and empathy: The NST should possess a high level of compassion and empathy towards patients, as well as a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
  5. Communicate effectively: The NST will be responsible for communicating effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care.
  6. Understand emergency and behavioral health care: The NST should have a strong understanding of emergency and behavioral health care to effectively support the unit and provide quality care to patients.
  7. Maintain a professional demeanor: The NST should maintain a professional demeanor at all times and adhere to the facility's code of conduct.
  8. Collaborate with the healthcare team: The NST will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  9. Monitor patient progress: The NST will monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  10. Adhere to safety protocols: The NST will follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Equivalent Certification

  • Previous Experience In A Behavioral Health Or Emergency Department Setting

  • Familiarity With Basic Medical Terminology And Procedures

  • Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members

  • Basic Knowledge Of Mental Health Disorders And Crisis Intervention Techniques
