- Oversee daily operations of the laboratory department to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results by implementing and maintaining quality control measures.
- Train, supervise, and provide guidance to laboratory staff to ensure adherence to established protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper functioning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement new laboratory tests and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to laboratory staff.
- Assist with budgeting and resource allocation for the laboratory department.
- Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues or problems in the laboratory.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in laboratory technology and recommend and implement upgrades as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the laboratory department.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of laboratory processes and procedures.
- Utilize strong leadership skills to motivate and support laboratory staff in achieving departmental goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance within the laboratory department.
- Handle any patient or staff concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information and laboratory results.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and developments and make recommendations for improvement and growth.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, ethical behavior, and commitment to patient care.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and protocols.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field, Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Medical Laboratory Science.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With At Least 1 Year In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role.
Current Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency, Such As Ascp Or Amt.
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Safety Protocols, And Quality Control Measures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team Of Laboratory Technicians And Technologists.
