- Provide expert knowledge and guidance in medical physics to ensure safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment and treatment plans to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Perform calculations and simulations to determine optimal treatment techniques and doses for patients.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and changes in regulations to continuously improve patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatment plans, calculations, and quality assurance checks.
- Train and supervise medical dosimetrists and radiation therapists on proper procedures and techniques.
- Participate in research and development projects to improve treatment methods and technologies.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and radiation protection measures to protect patients, staff, and the general public.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to educate them on treatment procedures and address any concerns or questions.
Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Medical Physics From An Accredited University.
Board Certification From The American Board Of Radiology (Abr) Or The American Board Of Medical Physics (Abmp).
At Least 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In Medical Physics, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Proficiency In Using Medical Physics Equipment And Software, Such As Treatment Planning Systems And Quality Assurance Tools.
Strong Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Regulations And Guidelines, Including Those Set By The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (Nrc) And The Joint Commission.
