- Providing exceptional patient care: The primary responsibility of a Certified Medical Assistant in this role is to provide exceptional care to patients seeking weight management services. This Ensures That The Cma Has A Strong Foundation Of Knowledge And Skills To Perform Their Duties Effectively.
Current Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant: To Be Considered For The Weight Management Job At Prisma Health, Candidates Must Possess Current Certification As A Cma. This Certification Is Obtained Through Either The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt) And Demonstrates A Level Of Competency And Professionalism In The Field.
Knowledge Of Weight Management Principles And Techniques: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Weight Management Principles And Techniques. This Includes Knowledge Of Nutrition, Exercise, And Behavior Modification Strategies To Help Patients Achieve Their Weight Loss Goals.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Prisma Health Is Looking For Cmas With Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Weight Management Or Primary Care Setting. This Experience Allows The Cma To Have A Better Understanding Of Patient Care And The Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Cma In A Weight Management Setting, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients Is Crucial. The Candidate Should Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Build Rapport With Patients And Provide Them With The Necessary Support And Guidance Throughout Their Weight Loss Journey.
