Job Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a passion for helping patients achieve their weight management goals? In this role, you will work closely with our patients, providing support and guidance as they navigate their weight loss journey.   1. Provide compassionate and dedicated care to patients seeking weight management assistance.
  2. Assist patients in achieving their weight loss goals through support and guidance.
  3. Work closely with patients to develop personalized weight management plans.
  4. Educate patients on healthy eating habits, exercise, and lifestyle changes.
  5. Monitor and track patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  6. Perform medical procedures such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing lab tests.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  9. Stay up-to-date with current medical practices and procedures related to weight management.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
  12. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their weight loss journey.
  13. Utilize strong understanding of medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare team members.
  14. Adhere to all HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  15. Serve as a positive and professional representative of Prisma Health and the Weight Management department.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Cma Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Medical Assisting, Which Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology, And Clinical Procedures.

  • Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma): The Cma Credential Is Awarded By The American Association Of Medical Assistants And Demonstrates A Standardized Level Of Knowledge And Skills In The Field.

  • Experience Working In A Weight Management Setting: Prisma Health Is Seeking A Cma Who Has Experience Working In A Weight Management Clinic Or With Patients Who Are Undergoing Weight Loss Treatment.

  • Knowledge Of Weight Management Techniques And Strategies: As A Cma In A Weight Management Role, It Is Important To Have A Strong Understanding Of Weight Management Techniques And Strategies, Such As Dietary Recommendations, Exercise Plans, And Behavior Modification Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication And Patient Care Skills: A Cma In A Weight Management Setting Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Educate And Support Patients In Their Weight Loss Journey. They Must Also Have Strong Patient Care Skills To Provide Compassionate And Personalized Care To Patients.
