- Accurately code and bill for ambulatory services rendered by Prisma Health, ensuring timely and efficient processing of claims.
- Utilize knowledge of medical coding systems and guidelines (e.g. CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) to accurately assign codes for services provided.
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure documentation supports codes assigned and that all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to resolve coding and billing discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
- Stay current with changes and updates in coding and billing regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
- Work closely with billing and revenue cycle teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims and resolution of any billing issues.
- Communicate with insurance companies to follow up on claim status and resolve any denials or rejections.
- Participate in training and education sessions to continuously improve coding and billing skills and stay updated on industry changes.
- Act as a resource for team members and provide guidance and support on coding and billing related inquiries.
Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Credential From The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Credential From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).
At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Ambulatory Coding, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
Proficiency In Coding Systems Such As Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Accurately And Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
