Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Hematology Oncology department at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. This role is a great opportunity for a dedicated RN to provide quality care to our pediatric patients in a supportive and encouraging environment.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a pediatric setting, along with a strong understanding of hematology and oncology treatments. The RN will also possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a strong sense of teamwork. An ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. The RN should also possess a positive attitude, be compassionate and sensitive to our patients and their families, and have a strong commitment to providing the highest quality of care. Responsibilities:

  1. Administer medications and treatments to pediatric patients in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs and record patient's medical history.
  3. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
  4. Educate patients and families about the diagnosis, treatments, medications, and potential side effects.
  5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  6. Utilize evidence-based practice to develop and implement nursing care plans.
  7. Document patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean environment for pediatric patients.
  9. Participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date with advancements in pediatric hematology oncology.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure optimal patient care.
