
Rehab Technician - Inpatient Physical Therapy

- Assist inpatient physical therapy department by providing support to patients during their rehabilitation process.
- Collaborate with physical therapists to create and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and document patients' progress and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist.
- Assist patients with exercises and activities under the guidance of a physical therapist.
- Educate patients on proper form and technique for exercises and activities.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Attend team meetings and participate in discussions regarding patient care.
- Keep up-to-date with current rehabilitation techniques and practices.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.

Education And Training: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, With Preference Given To Candidates Who Have Completed A Post-Secondary Education Program In A Related Field Such As Physical Therapy, Exercise Science, Or Kinesiology.
Relevant Experience: Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In An Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Or Physical Therapy Clinic, Is Preferred. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Basic Physical Therapy Techniques And Equipment.
Certification: Candidates Should Have Current Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls) And May Be Required To Hold Additional Certifications Such As Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Certified Rehabilitation Technician (Crt).
Physical Abilities: The Job Of A Rehab Technician May Involve Lifting And Transferring Patients, Assisting With Exercises And Stretches, And Operating And Maintaining Equipment. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks Safely And Effectively.
Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For A Rehab Technician. They Will Be Working Closely With Physical Therapists, Nurses, And Patients, And Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate Instructions, Observations, And Updates. Strong Interpersonal Skills Are Also Important For Building Rapport With Patients And Their Families.
