Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a PRN Recovery Room (PACU) Nurse to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate is a dedicated healthcare professional with a current RN license and at least 1 year of experience in a recovery room or PACU setting.   1. Provide high-quality care to patients recovering from surgical procedures in a compassionate and skilled manner.
  2. Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the organization and patients.
  3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  4. Administer medications, monitor patient vital signs, and assess patient status during the post-operative period.
  5. Ensure proper documentation and charting of patient care activities.
  6. Monitor and maintain patient safety and comfort during the recovery period.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide education and support.
  8. Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  9. Stay updated on current best practices and techniques in post-operative care.
  10. Act as a patient advocate and ensure that all care is provided in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
  11. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced and often stressful environment.
  12. Comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to patient care.
  13. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's mission to improve the health of communities.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: The Candidate Must Be A Licensed Registered Nurse In The State Of New Mexico, With No Restrictions Or Pending Investigations.

  • Pacu Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Or Recovery Room Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: The Candidate Must Have A Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification From The American Heart Association.

  • Critical Thinking And Communication Skills: As A Prn Recovery Room Nurse, The Candidate Must Possess Strong Critical Thinking Skills To Assess And Prioritize Patient Care Needs. Excellent Communication Skills Are Also Essential For Effective Collaboration With The Interdisciplinary Team And Patient Families.

  • Flexibility And Availability: The Prn Nature Of This Position Requires The Candidate To Have A Flexible Schedule And Be Available To Work Various Shifts, Which May Include Weekends And Holidays, As Needed To Meet The Needs Of The Unit.
