Job Description

  1. Dispensing Medications: Accurately and efficiently dispense medications to patients following all safety protocols and procedures.
  2. Patient Care: Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to all patients, ensuring their needs are met and their questions are answered.
  3. Medication Management: Assist with medication management by verifying prescriptions, monitoring drug interactions, and communicating with healthcare providers as needed.
  4. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels and ensure medications are properly stored and organized in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  5. Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and safety in all medication-related processes.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all medications dispensed and patient interactions.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  8. Adherence to Standards: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  9. Patient Education: Educate patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence to medication regimens.
  10. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and advancements in the pharmacy field, and actively seek opportunities for professional growth and development.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Pharmacy Technician At An Outpatient Specialty Clinic Should Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Ged In Order To Understand And Perform Basic Math And Science Calculations.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht): Candidates Should Hold A Valid Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Experience In Outpatient Pharmacy: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In An Outpatient Pharmacy Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Medication Management And Inventory Control.

  • Knowledge Of Specialty Medications: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Specialty Medications And Their Unique Storage, Handling, And Administration Requirements.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Pharmacy Technician, Strong Communication Skills Are Essential In Order To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Team Members. This Includes The Ability To Explain Medication Instructions And Provide Excellent Customer Service.
