Job Description

At Presbyterian Healthcare Services, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients and their families. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Neurologist to join our team and help us fulfill our mission. As a Pediatric Neurologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions in children, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care.   1. Diagnose and treat neurological conditions in pediatric patients with a high level of expertise and compassion.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive and individualized care for each patient.
  3. Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations, using diagnostic tests and tools, to accurately diagnose and monitor the progress of patients.
  4. Develop and implement treatment plans based on the specific needs and conditions of each patient, using evidence-based practices and staying up-to-date on the latest research and advancements in the field.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with clear explanations of their condition, treatment options, and potential outcomes.
  6. Educate and counsel patients and their families on managing their condition, including medication management, lifestyle changes, and coping strategies.
  7. Stay current with all necessary certifications and licensing requirements, as well as participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  8. Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and other collaborative discussions to improve patient care and outcomes.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols, ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's mission and values, promoting a positive and inclusive work culture.
  11. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, documenting patient progress, treatment plans, and any other necessary information.
  12. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members, including residents, fellows, and medical students.
  13. Participate in community outreach programs and events to promote awareness and education about pediatric neurological conditions.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance the quality of care provided to pediatric patients.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Pediatric Neurologist Must Have A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Residency Training: They Must Have Completed A Residency Program In Pediatrics And A Fellowship Program In Neurology, With A Focus On Pediatric Neurology.

  • Board Certification: Pediatric Neurologists Must Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Psychiatry And Neurology (Abpn) In Pediatric Neurology.

  • State Licensure: They Must Hold A Valid Medical License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing, And Must Meet All State Requirements For Practicing Medicine.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Neurology Is Preferred. This Includes Experience In Diagnosing And Treating A Variety Of Neurological Conditions In Children, As Well As Managing Complex Cases.
