
Paramedic - Emergency Department

- Provide emergency medical care and treatment to patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Assess patient's condition and determine appropriate treatment based on medical history, symptoms, and vital signs.
- Administer medications and perform advanced medical procedures as necessary.
- Monitor and record patient's response to treatment and report any changes or concerns to the medical team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Continuously evaluate and improve skills and knowledge through ongoing training and education.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and make quick and accurate decisions.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism towards patients and their families.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback for process improvement.
- Maintain and clean, stocked, and well-equipped ambulance, ensuring readiness for emergency calls.
- Promote a positive and respectful work environment and act as an ambassador for the organization.
Current Paramedic Certification And Licensure: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Paramedic Certification From An Accredited Institution And Be Licensed To Practice In The State Of New Mexico.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Emergency Department Setting: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Emergency Department, Providing Care To Critically Ill Or Injured Patients.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Certifications: The Candidate Must Have Current Certifications In Acls And Pals, As These Are Essential Skills For Providing Emergency Care In The Hospital Setting.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Paramedic In The Emergency Department, The Candidate Will Be Required To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For This Role.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment: The Emergency Department Can Be A High-Stress And Fast-Paced Environment, And The Candidate Must Be Able To Work Well Under Pressure And Make Quick Decisions In Critical Situations. The Ability To Remain Calm And Focused In Stressful Situations Is A Vital Qualification For This Role.
