  1. Provide exceptional wound care and ostomy management to patients in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.
  2. Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex wound care and ostomy needs.
  3. Evaluate and assess patient wounds and ostomies, and make appropriate treatment recommendations.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of treatments and progress.
  6. Educate patients and their families on wound care and ostomy management, including prevention and self-care techniques.
  7. Stay current on advancements in wound care and ostomy management by attending conferences and workshops, and participating in continuing education opportunities.
  8. Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
  9. Serve as a resource and mentor for other healthcare professionals, including nurses and medical assistants, on wound care and ostomy management.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based wound care and ostomy protocols.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
  12. Demonstrate compassionate and empathetic care towards patients and their families.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  14. Adhere to Presbyterian Healthcare Services' policies and procedures, including those related to patient care, documentation, and safety.
  15. Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing: To Become A Nurse Practitioner, A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing Is Required. This Advanced Education Provides The Knowledge And Skills Necessary To Specialize In Wound Care And Ostomy Management.

  • Certification As A Nurse Practitioner: In Addition To A Master's Degree, Nps Must Also Be Certified By A National Certifying Board Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center Or The American Academy Of Nurse Practitioners. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise In The Field Of Wound Care And Ostomy Management.

  • Clinical Experience In Wound Care And Ostomy Management: Presbyterian Healthcare Services Requires Nps To Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In Wound Care And Ostomy Management. This Ensures That The Np Has A Strong Foundation In The Specialized Skills And Knowledge Required For The Job.

  • State Licensure: All Nps Must Be Licensed In The State In Which They Practice. This Requires Passing A National Certification Exam And Meeting State-Specific Requirements. Presbyterian Healthcare Services May Also Require Additional Certifications Or Licensure Specific To Wound Care And Ostomy Management.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Nurse Practitioner In Wound Care And Ostomy Management, Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential. Nps Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide Comprehensive Care And Promote Positive Outcomes.
