
Nurse Midwife
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Midwife to join our team at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. As a Nurse Midwife, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to mothers and their babies during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Your expertise in labor and delivery, as well as your compassionate nature, will play a vital role in creating a positive birthing experience for our patients. To excel in this role, we require a Master's degree in Nursing and certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). - Provide exceptional care to mothers and their babies during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health and medical histories.
- Monitor and assist with the progress of labor and delivery.
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures as needed.
- Educate and support patients on prenatal and postpartum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Establish and maintain a compassionate and trusting relationship with patients and their families.
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices in midwifery.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Play an active role in promoting a positive and welcoming birthing experience for patients.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced midwives and nursing staff.
- Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Pursue opportunities for professional development and continuing education.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient advocacy and empowerment.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Compassionate And Patient-Centered Care.
Master's Degree In Nurse-Midwifery From An Accredited Program.
Current Certification As A Nurse Midwife Through The American Midwifery Certification Board (Amcb).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Nurse Midwife In A Hospital Or Clinic Setting.
Current Licensure As A Registered Nurse (Rn) In The State Of New Mexico.
