As a GI Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures.   1. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the GI Lab, including assisting with endoscopic procedures, administering sedation, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  2. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for procedures, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
  3. Follow established protocols for infection control and safety to maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
  4. Provide patient education and support, including explaining procedures and answering questions to alleviate any fears or concerns.
  5. Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner, including procedure notes, vital signs, and medication administration.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care, including communicating any changes in patient condition.
  7. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current on industry standards and best practices.
  9. Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion when interacting with patients and their families.
  10. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by actively participating in team meetings and offering suggestions for process improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree In Nursing Or Equivalent Healthcare Related Field.

  • Current Certification As A Gi Technician Through The Society Of Gastroenterology Nurses And Associates (Sgna).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Endoscopy Or Gi Lab Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Gi Procedures, Equipment, And Supplies.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
