Innovation Lead
Advise health care, education, and/or advocacy program teams on assembling the right cross-section of skills, levels, and identities to embark on a new innovation initiative, centering equity and knowing when to draw from PPFA staff, affiliate staff, movement partners, and community representatives. Support the team to overcome obstacles during the process, including escalating questions or needs as appropriate. Creating documentation about the impacted community, such as personas or user journey maps. Making connections with community-led organizations or thought leaders who are already addressing the problem in question. Modeling humility and curiosity; guiding teams away from the notion that empathy is enough. Connect with end users or communities to conduct interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, or co-design sessions.
5-8 years professional experience with innovation, whether formal or informal—such as experience leading a prototype or pilot initiative.
2-3 years experience working in any of the following areas: health care, sex ed, progressive politics and advocacy
Experience making strategic decisions or offering guidance based on learnings.
Experience and comfort with presenting and facilitating a process for a team, both remotely and in person.
