Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Attorney - Regulatory to join the legal team at Philadelphia Gas Works. This position is responsible for providing legal advice and assistance in regulatory matters related to the operation of the utility. Ideal candidates will have an excellent understanding of the applicable laws and regulations and the ability to think strategically to develop solutions to complex problems.The ideal candidate for this role must possess a J.D. degree and be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania. They should have at least 7 years of experience in regulatory and/or administrative law, preferably in the energy and utility industry. Experience with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is essential.This position requires an individual with strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to effectively analyze complex information and communicate it to a variety of audiences. The Senior Staff Attorney - Regulatory must be comfortable working independently, as well as in a team environment, and must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice and assistance in regulatory matters related to the operation of the utility.
Analyze applicable laws and regulations and develop solutions to complex problems.
Represent the utility before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Participate in team meetings and collaborate on projects.
Ensure that the legal department is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare legal documents and pleadings as needed.
Research legal issues and update the legal team on relevant changes in the law.
Provide guidance to other departments on legal matters.
