  1. Lead and oversee the development and implementation of animal health and welfare research and development programs.
  2. Conduct in-depth scientific research and provide expert guidance on animal health and welfare topics.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute animal studies and clinical trials.
  4. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and external partners.
  5. Serve as a subject matter expert on animal health and welfare regulations and guidelines.
  6. Provide training and mentorship to junior veterinary staff.
  7. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and protocols for animal research and care.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to animal research and care.
  9. Monitor and report on the progress of animal research and development projects.
  10. Contribute to the publication and dissemination of research findings.
  11. Stay updated on the latest advancements in animal health and welfare research and incorporate them into Pfizer's practices and processes.
  12. Collaborate with external organizations and participate in industry conferences to enhance Pfizer's reputation and influence in the animal health community.
  13. Represent Pfizer in discussions and negotiations with regulatory authorities and other external stakeholders.
  14. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the animal health team.
  15. Uphold Pfizer's commitment to ethical standards and animal welfare in all aspects of work.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Education: A Senior Principal Scientist Should Have A Phd In A Relevant Field Such As Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Or Pharmacology. This Advanced Education Demonstrates A Deep Understanding Of The Scientific Principles And Methodologies Necessary For The Role.

  • Extensive Research Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience Conducting Animal Research In A Laboratory Or Clinical Setting. This Experience Should Include Designing And Executing Experiments, Data Analysis, And Publication Of Findings.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: As A Senior Principal Scientist, The Candidate Will Be Expected To Lead A Team Of Researchers And Collaborate With Other Departments Within Pfizer. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills, Including Effective Communication, Project Management, And Decision-Making, Are Essential For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Guidelines: Pfizer Is A Highly Regulated Company, And A Senior Principal Scientist Must Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of All Relevant Regulations And Guidelines Pertaining To Animal Research, Including Good Laboratory Practices (Glp) And Institutional Animal Care And Use Committee (Iacuc) Regulations.
