Provide daily care and management for sows and piglets during the farrowing process.
Monitor and assist sows during farrowing to ensure a safe and successful delivery.
Maintain accurate records of sow and piglet health and production data.
Identify and address any health or welfare concerns in a timely manner.
Operate and maintain equipment used in the farrowing process.
Follow strict biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of disease.
Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for the animals.
Assist with other tasks on the farm as needed.
Continuously seek ways to improve and optimize the farrowing process.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including animal welfare guidelines.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the company.
Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on industry practices and regulations.
Follow all safety protocols and ensure the safety of yourself and others on the farm.

Job Qualifications

Experience With Farrowing: A Farm Technician - Farrowing Technician At Perdue Farms Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Farrowing Operation, With A Thorough Understanding Of Sow Management, Piglet Care, And Farrowing Procedures.
Knowledge Of Animal Husbandry: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Animal Husbandry, Including Experience With Breeding, Birthing, And Neonatal Care. They Should Also Have A Good Understanding Of Pig Behavior And Be Able To Identify And Address Any Health Or Behavioral Issues In The Animals.
Physical Fitness: This Position Requires Physical Strength And Stamina, As Well As The Ability To Work In All Weather Conditions. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift Up To 50Lbs, Stand For Extended Periods Of Time, And Perform Physically Demanding Tasks, Such As Moving Equipment And Livestock.
Attention To Detail: Farm Technicians At Perdue Farms Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have Strong Observational Skills. They Should Be Able To Identify And Report Any Issues Or Abnormalities In The Animals, As Well As Maintain Accurate Records And Follow Strict Protocols.
Teamwork And Communication: Farm Technicians Work Closely With Other Team Members, Including Other Technicians, Managers, And Veterinarians. Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For A Successful Candidate, As Well As The Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment.
