1. Operate and maneuver tractor trailers and other large vehicles within the distribution center yard, following all safety regulations and procedures.
2. Conduct thorough pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any issues or damages to the appropriate personnel.
3. Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams to coordinate the movement of products and trailers.
4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of trailer movements, inventory, and other relevant data.
5. Utilize yard management software and other tracking systems to ensure efficient and timely movement of products.
6. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the distribution center premises.
7. Ensure that all trailers and equipment are properly secured and parked in designated areas.
8. Assist with loading and unloading of trailers when necessary.
9. Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or damages to the maintenance team.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the yard and parking lot.
11. Collaborate with other yard jockeys and warehouse personnel to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise.
12. Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and attendance guidelines.
13. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.
14. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings as required.
15. Uphold a positive and professional attitude while representing the company to outside vendors and customers.
16. Complete all assigned tasks and duties in a timely and accurate manner.
17. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
