
Director of Technical Accounting & Policy - Pension

- Serve as the subject matter expert on pension plans and policies within the organization.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all relevant accounting standards and regulations related to pension plans.
- Lead the development and implementation of pension accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on technical accounting matters related to pension plans.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements related to pension plans.
- Monitor and analyze changes in accounting standards and regulations related to pension plans, and communicate potential impacts to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of pension plan financial statements.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of pension plan financial data to identify any potential issues or discrepancies.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize pension plan financial performance and mitigate risks.
- Train and mentor team members on pension plan accounting principles and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, to provide updates and recommendations on pension plan accounting matters.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to pension plans, as needed.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in pension plan accounting and reporting.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to pension plan accounting.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information related to pension plans and policies.
Extensive Knowledge Of Technical Accounting And Policy Standards: A Director Of Technical Accounting & Policy-Pension At Pepsico Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And International Financial Reporting Standards (Ifrs) Related To Pension Accounting. They Should Also Be Up-To-Date With Any Changes Or Updates In These Standards.
Strong Experience In Pension Accounting: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Pension Accounting, Preferably In A Large Multinational Company. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Overseeing Pension Accounting Processes And Policies.
Leadership Skills: As A Director, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Technical Accounting Professionals. They Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills And Be Able To Provide Guidance And Support To Their Team. They Should Also Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams And Senior Management.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires A High Level Of Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills. The Director Of Technical Accounting & Policy-Pension Should Be Able To Analyze Complex Pension Accounting Issues And Provide Effective Solutions. They Should Also Be Able To Identify Potential Risks And Implement Controls To Mitigate Them.
Communication And Stakeholder Management: The Director Of Technical Accounting & Policy-Pension Will Be Required To Communicate Complex Technical Accounting Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders, Including Senior Management And External Auditors. They Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Build Strong Relationships With Stakeholders At All Levels.
