1. Conduct research on coffee origins and varieties to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in the industry.
2. Build and maintain relationships with coffee growers and suppliers from various regions to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality beans.
3. Evaluate and select the best green coffee beans based on quality, taste, and sustainability practices.
4. Negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of beans.
5. Collaborate with the Roasting team to develop and maintain roast profiles for different coffee beans.
6. Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of green coffee beans.
7. Conduct regular cuppings and taste tests to maintain the quality and consistency of our coffee offerings.
8. Analyze market trends and make strategic purchasing decisions to meet customer demand and stay ahead of competitors.
9. Communicate and coordinate with other departments, such as Marketing and Operations, to ensure a smooth supply chain and timely delivery to stores.
10. Represent Peet's Coffee at industry events and participate in coffee auctions and competitions to expand our network and source unique and specialty beans.
