Director of Tax

Serve as the Company’s lead tax expert and advisor. Responsible for preparing the income tax provisions for Peet’s and subsidiaries under ASC 740. Research and analyze technical tax issues, correctly apply conclusions, and record the impact on the financial statements. Effectively manage external service providers preparing various tax returns, including sales/use tax, property tax, and federal/state income tax. Manage audits and inquiries by federal and state governmental authorities. Partner with cross functional teams throughout the company to ensure all direct and indirect taxes are accounted for correctly. Oversee all indirect taxes, including sales and use, property, and consumption-based taxes. Drive continuous improvements to the process and methodologies used in the tax department. Advise senior management on ad hoc issues and inform of opportunities available to Company. Coordinate deliverables and projects with tax department from the parent company.
