- Provide expert wound, ostomy, and continence care to patients in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans for wound, ostomy, and continence management.
- Educate patients and their families on wound, ostomy, and continence care techniques and strategies for self-management.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Wound Ostomy Continence Registered Nurse At Orlando Health Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice, As Well As The Necessary Clinical Skills For Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Care.
Wound Ostomy Continence Certification: Candidates For This Position Must Hold A Certification In Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (Wocn) From A Recognized Certifying Body Such As The Wound, Ostomy And Continence Nursing Certification Board (Wocncb).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience: Orlando Health Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Registered Nurse, With A Significant Portion Of That Experience Focused On Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Care. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of The Complexities Of These Conditions And The Skills To Provide Effective Care.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Wound Ostomy Continence Registered Nurse, Effective Communication Is Crucial For Collaborating With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
