A degree in Health Information Management or a related field is strongly preferred.   1. Manage the trauma registry to ensure accurate and timely data collection and submission.
  2. Utilize knowledge of trauma coding and classification systems to accurately abstract information from medical records.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and national regulations related to trauma data reporting.
  5. Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.
  6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement.
  7. Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to gather and share information related to trauma cases.
  8. Train and educate healthcare providers and staff on trauma data collection and reporting procedures.
  9. Stay updated on changes and updates to trauma coding and classification systems.
  10. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the trauma registry.
  11. Participate in audits and reviews to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
  12. Serve as a resource for healthcare providers and staff regarding trauma data management and reporting.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while handling sensitive patient information.
  14. Facilitate data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and performance improvement initiatives.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance data collection and reporting efficiency.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In An Acute Care Or Trauma Center.

  • Certified Trauma Registrar (Ctr) Credential Through The American Trauma Society Or Equivalent Certification.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Icd-10 Coding And Abstracting, As Well As Familiarity With Trauma Registry Software.

  • Excellent Organizational And Data Management Skills, With A High Attention To Detail.

  • Knowledge Of Trauma Center Accreditation Requirements And Experience With Registry Data Submission Processes.
