  1. Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room and equipment for surgical procedures.
  2. Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  3. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures, providing necessary instruments and supplies in a timely manner.
  4. Assist surgeons during procedures by handing them instruments, holding tissue, and providing other support as needed.
  5. Monitor patient vital signs and provide updates to the surgical team as necessary.
  6. Administer appropriate medications and treatments as directed by the surgeon.
  7. Assist with positioning and moving patients during procedures, taking necessary precautions to ensure their safety and comfort.
  8. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room at all times.
  9. Communicate effectively with the surgical team, providing clear and accurate information and following all protocols and procedures.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on new techniques and procedures.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and guidelines.
  12. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of procedures, supplies used, and patient information.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
  14. Serve as a role model for professionalism and excellence in patient care.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Orlando Health, promoting a culture of compassion, respect, and quality care.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Or Certified Surgical First Assistant (Csfa) Credential From An Accredited Program.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Surgical Technician Or First Assistant In A Hospital Setting.

  • Advanced Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Techniques, Including Aseptic Technique And Surgical Instrumentation.

  • Ability To Anticipate And Proactively Respond To The Needs Of The Surgeon During Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Other Members Of The Surgical Team.
