We are currently seeking a skilled Surgical Technician for our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).   1. Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  2. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist in providing a safe and efficient environment for surgery.
  3. Assist in positioning and prepping patients for surgery.
  4. Perform pre-operative checks on equipment and ensure all necessary supplies are available.
  5. Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
  6. Monitor and record patient vital signs and communicate any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
  7. Assist in maintaining a sterile field during surgery and ensure all infection control protocols are followed.
  8. Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and respond to their needs during surgery.
  9. Assist with the transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
  10. Ensure proper handling and disposal of surgical instruments and supplies.
  11. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and supplies used.
  12. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  13. Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
  14. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during surgical procedures.
  15. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  16. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  17. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
  18. Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  19. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
  20. Continuously strive for excellence in patient care and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Training: A Surgical Technician, Cvor Must Have Completed An Accredited Surgical Technology Program And Hold A Current Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Experience In A Cardiovascular Operating Room (Cvor) Setting: The Ideal Candidate Will Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technician In A Cvor Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of The Equipment, Procedures, And Protocols Used In This Specialized Area.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Instruments And Equipment: The Surgical Technician, Cvor Must Have A Thorough Knowledge Of Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Supplies Used In Cardiovascular Surgeries, Including Their Names, Functions, And Proper Handling.

  • Attention To Detail And Ability To Anticipate Needs: In A Fast-Paced Operating Room Environment, The Surgical Technician, Cvor Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail And The Ability To Anticipate The Needs Of The Surgical Team, Ensuring That All Necessary Equipment And Supplies Are Ready And Available.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: A Successful Surgical Technician, Cvor Must Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Surgeons, Nurses, Anesthesiologists, And Other Members Of The Surgical Team. Strong Communication Skills Are Essential To Ensure Efficient And Effective Patient Care.
