- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
- Prepare and maintain all surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are sterile and ready for use.
- Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure the safety and success of each procedure.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infection in the operating room.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as endoscopic cameras and laparoscopic instruments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to provide a positive and reassuring experience during their time in the operating room.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with positioning and transferring them during surgery.
- Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record, including procedure details and any necessary post-operative instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized operating room, including restocking supplies and disposing of medical waste.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings to stay current on advancements in technology and surgical techniques.
