Job Description

If so, Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Tech to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the operating room, providing necessary instruments and supplies to the surgical team, and ensuring a safe and sterile environment. The ideal candidate will have a Surgical Technology degree and at least two years of experience in a surgical setting. Additionally, candidates must possess exceptional communication and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.   1. Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the operating room.
  2. Provide necessary instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
  3. Ensure a safe and sterile environment for surgical procedures.
  4. Follow all infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized operating room.
  5. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide assistance as needed.
  6. Work efficiently and effectively under pressure to ensure timely completion of surgical procedures.
  7. Communicate effectively with the surgical team, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care and safety.
  9. Continuously monitor and maintain sterile fields during surgical procedures.
  10. Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgery.
  11. Handle instruments and supplies with care to prevent damage or contamination.
  12. Maintain accurate and complete records of surgical procedures.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on surgical techniques and procedures.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  16. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
  17. Demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction and safety.
  18. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  19. Provide support and assistance to other members of the surgical team as needed.
  20. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program: Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology, Which Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Medical Terminology, And Surgical Procedures.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential: Orlando Health Requires All Surgical Techs To Have A Current Cst Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment And Supplies: Candidates Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Supplies Used In A Variety Of Procedures.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Surgical Techs At Orlando Health Must Be Able To Thrive In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment. They Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously And Have Excellent Time Management Skills.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Surgical Techs Must Be Effective Communicators And Work Well In A Team Environment. They Must Be Able To Follow Instructions And Communicate Effectively With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Members Of The Surgical Team.
