The ideal candidate will have a Surgical Technology degree and at least two years of experience in a surgical setting. - Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the operating room.
- Provide necessary instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment for surgical procedures.
- Follow all infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized operating room.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide assistance as needed.
- Work efficiently and effectively under pressure to ensure timely completion of surgical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care and safety.
- Continuously monitor and maintain sterile fields during surgical procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgery.
- Handle instruments and supplies with care to prevent damage or contamination.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of surgical procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on surgical techniques and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction and safety.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Provide support and assistance to other members of the surgical team as needed.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program: Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology, Which Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Medical Terminology, And Surgical Procedures.
Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential: Orlando Health Requires All Surgical Techs To Have A Current Cst Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment And Supplies: Candidates Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Supplies Used In A Variety Of Procedures.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Surgical Techs At Orlando Health Must Be Able To Thrive In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment. They Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously And Have Excellent Time Management Skills.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Surgical Techs Must Be Effective Communicators And Work Well In A Team Environment. They Must Be Able To Follow Instructions And Communicate Effectively With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Members Of The Surgical Team.
