- Oversee the daily operations of the microbiology lab section at Orlando Health.
- Ensure accurate and timely testing of specimens according to established protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor and maintain quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Train and supervise lab staff, providing ongoing support, feedback, and guidance.
- Develop and implement new testing procedures and protocols as needed.
- Collaborate with other lab supervisors and department heads to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
- Maintain inventory and order necessary supplies to ensure uninterrupted testing.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Review and analyze lab data to identify trends and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in microbiological testing.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new lab staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentoring to lab staff.

Bachelor's Degree In Microbiology Or Related Field: A Supervisor, Lab Section (Microbiology) At Orlando Health Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Microbiology Or A Related Field. This Will Ensure That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Oversee The Lab Section.
Previous Supervisory Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In A Supervisory Role, Preferably In A Microbiology Lab Setting. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Effectively.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Techniques: A Supervisor, Lab Section (Microbiology) Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Techniques Related To Microbiology. This Includes Knowledge Of Aseptic Techniques, Specimen Collection And Handling, And Various Testing Methods.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Supervisor, It Is Important To Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Staff, Colleagues, And Other Departments. This Will Also Help In Providing Clear Instructions And Feedback To The Team.
