  1. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Inspect and prepare medical equipment, instruments, and supplies for sterilization and use.
  3. Assemble and wrap instrument trays and sets with precision and attention to detail.
  4. Monitor and document sterilization processes, including load contents, cycle times, and temperatures.
  5. Maintain accurate records of inventory and restock supplies as needed.
  6. Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure sterile equipment is readily available for patient care.
  8. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and storage areas according to established standards.
  10. Train and mentor new Sterile Processing Technicians on proper procedures and protocols.
  11. Stay up-to-date on current industry standards and best practices related to sterile processing.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient privacy.
  14. Attend departmental meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Sterile Processing Manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A Sterile Processing Technician Training Program Or Equivalent Education And Experience In Healthcare Or Medical Device Industry.

  • Certification As A Sterile Processing Technician (Cspdt) Or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques, Infection Control Practices, And Medical Terminology.

  • Ability To Operate And Maintain Sterilization Equipment, Including Steam Autoclaves, Ethylene Oxide Gas Sterilizers, And Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Sterilizers.

  • Strong Attention To Detail, Organizational Skills, And Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
