Job Description

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our medical equipment, supplies, and instruments.   1. Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical equipment, instruments, and supplies according to established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Maintain an organized and efficient workflow to ensure timely processing of equipment and supplies.
  3. Follow all infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  4. Monitor and record sterilization equipment parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and exposure time, to ensure effectiveness.
  5. Inspect and assemble medical equipment and instruments to ensure they are in proper working condition and free of defects.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve any issues related to equipment sterilization and supply availability.
  7. Keep accurate records of all sterilization processes and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  8. Participate in ongoing trainings and education to stay updated on new techniques, equipment, and protocols.
  9. Adhere to all safety and quality standards to ensure a sterile and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  10. Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology and infection control principles to effectively perform job duties.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate equipment and supply needs.
  12. Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the appropriate personnel for repair or replacement.
  13. Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies to protect patient information.
  14. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the sterile processing department.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Sterile Processing: Candidates Should Have A Recognized Certification In Sterile Processing, Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or The Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt).

  • Understanding Of Sterilization Techniques: A Thorough Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques, Including Instrument Decontamination, Packaging, And Sterilization Methods, Is Essential For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Infection Control Protocols: Sterile Processing Technicians Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control Protocols And Be Able To Follow Them Rigorously To Prevent The Spread Of Infections.

  • Attention To Detail: The Job Of A Sterile Processing Technician Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Instruments Are Properly Cleaned, Sterilized, And Assembled.

  • Physical Stamina: This Job May Involve Standing For Long Periods, Lifting Heavy Equipment, And Repetitive Movements. Candidates Should Have The Physical Stamina And Strength To Perform These Tasks Efficiently And Without Injury.
