Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Front Office Assistant in our Neurosurgery department at Orlando Health's Downtown Orlando location. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting our physicians and providing top-notch administrative assistance to our patients.   1. Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Schedule appointments and manage the physician's calendar efficiently.
  3. Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages when necessary.
  4. Retrieve and update patient information accurately in the electronic medical records system.
  5. Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments from patients.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized front office area.
  7. Work closely with physicians to ensure a smooth and timely patient flow.
  8. Prepare and file necessary paperwork for patient visits and procedures.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Handle confidential patient information with discretion and follow HIPAA regulations.
  11. Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed.
  12. Keep track of office supplies and order when necessary.
  13. Act as a liaison between patients and physicians to address any concerns or questions.
  14. Train and mentor new front office staff as needed.
  15. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
  16. Continuously strive to improve and streamline front office processes.
  17. Attend meetings and trainings to stay updated on neurosurgery procedures and protocols.
  18. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  19. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care.
  20. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Front Office Or Administrative Role In A Healthcare Setting, With A Preference For Experience In Neurosurgery.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Experience Working With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Systems.

  • Exceptional Customer Service And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Providers In A Professional And Compassionate Manner.

  • Strong Organizational Skills And The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize Tasks In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Proficiency In Microsoft Office And Other Computer Applications, With The Ability To Learn And Adapt To New Technology And Software Systems.
