  1. Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the communication and swallowing needs of patients.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
  3. Implement treatment plans and provide therapy services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  4. Monitor and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  6. Educate patients and their families on strategies and techniques to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  8. Stay current on developments and advancements in the field of speech language pathology, incorporating new techniques and technologies into practice as appropriate.
  9. Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
  10. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other collaborative activities to ensure coordinated and efficient care for patients.
  11. Provide guidance and support to speech language pathology assistants and other support staff.
  12. Foster a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and understanding.
  13. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
  14. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to safety, confidentiality, and infection control.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited University Is Typically Required For A Speech Language Pathologist Position At Orlando Health.

  • State Licensure And Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Valid And Current State License In Speech-Language Pathology And Have A Certificate Of Clinical Competence (Ccc) From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).

  • Clinical Experience: Orlando Health Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In Speech-Language Pathology, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Speech-Language Pathology, Including The Ability To Develop And Implement Treatment Plans Based On Current Research And Best Practices, Is Essential For This Position.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For A Speech Language Pathologist At Orlando Health To Effectively Work With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Provide Clear And Concise Instructions, Actively Listen, And Collaborate With Others To Develop Comprehensive Treatment Plans.
