  1. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using advanced technology and equipment.
  2. Obtain and record patient medical history and pertinent information.
  3. Prepare and position patients for procedures in a safe and comfortable manner.
  4. Communicate with patients to ensure understanding and cooperation during procedures.
  5. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper functioning of equipment.
  7. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and detailed findings.
  8. Monitor patient vital signs and recognize any changes or abnormalities.
  9. Document and maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  11. Continuously stay updated on new technology and techniques in the field of sonography.
  12. Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to uphold high standards of patient care.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Assist in training and mentoring new sonographers.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  16. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  17. Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions.
  18. Attend departmental meetings and participate in educational opportunities.
  19. Continuously strive to improve and deliver the best possible care to our patients.
  20. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography From An Accredited Program Is Required For A Sonographer I Position At Orlando Health. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Education In The Field Of Sonography.

  • Ardms Certification: Candidates Must Be Registered By The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) In Order To Be Considered For A Sonographer I Position At Orlando Health. This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met National Standards For Competency And Professionalism In The Field Of Sonography.

  • Experience In General And Obstetric Sonography: Orlando Health Requires Candidates For A Sonographer I Position To Have A Minimum Of One Year Of Experience In General And Obstetric Sonography. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With A Wide Range Of Procedures And Can Handle Various Types Of Patients.

  • Knowledge Of Ultrasound Equipment And Technology: Candidates Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Ultrasound Equipment And Technology, Including The Ability To Operate And Troubleshoot Equipment. This Includes Knowledge Of Various Scanning Techniques, Image Optimization, And Patient Positioning.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Sonographer I At Orlando Health, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential. The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Explain Procedures, And Work As Part Of A Team To Provide The Best Possible Care.
