Job Description

Are you passionate about educating and training the next generation of sonographers? Do you have a strong background in echocardiography and a desire to share your expertise with others? Orlando Health is seeking a dedicated Sonographer Educator for our Echocardiology department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and mold the skills of our sonographers while also staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field. We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable individual who can inspire and educate our team to provide the best patient care possible. If you are a skilled sonographer with a passion for teaching, we want to hear from you.

  1. Develop and implement educational programs and training materials for sonographers within the Echocardiography department.
  2. Deliver engaging and informative lectures, presentations, and hands-on workshops to educate sonographers on the latest advancements and techniques in echocardiography.
  3. Monitor and evaluate the competency and performance of sonographers through practical assessments and feedback.
  4. Collaborate with department leadership to identify areas of improvement and develop targeted training plans to address any knowledge or skill gaps.
  5. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in echocardiography to ensure the education and training provided to sonographers is up-to-date.
  6. Act as a mentor and resource for sonographers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  7. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and growth within the Echocardiography department.
  8. Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new sonographers, providing them with the necessary training and support to excel in their role.
  9. Collaborate with external organizations and partners to facilitate educational opportunities and promote knowledge sharing within the field of echocardiography.
  10. Maintain accurate records of training and education provided to sonographers, as well as their progress and performance.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Sonography Or A Related Field, Such As Cardiovascular Technology Or Radiologic Technology.

  • Certified Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Rdcs) Or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Rdms) Through The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms).

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Sonographer, With A Focus On Echocardiology.

  • Prior Teaching Or Training Experience, Preferably In A Hospital Or Academic Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Teach And Mentor Students Of Varying Backgrounds And Skill Levels.
