  1. Oversee and lead the medical physics team in providing safe and effective use of radiation in our facilities.
  2. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines related to medical physics and radiation safety.
  3. Develop and implement quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  5. Conduct complex radiation measurements and calculations to ensure accurate delivery of treatment.
  6. Train and mentor junior medical physicists, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  7. Continuously review and evaluate new technologies and techniques in medical physics to improve patient outcomes.
  8. Conduct regular audits and reviews of equipment and procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all radiation-related activities.
  10. Communicate with patients and their families to provide education and support regarding radiation therapy.
  11. Participate in research and development projects to advance the field of medical physics.
  12. Serve as a resource for physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding radiation therapy and its applications.
  13. Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in medical physics through attending conferences and participating in continuing education opportunities.
  14. Collaborate with hospital administration to develop and implement policies and procedures related to medical physics.
  15. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Medical Physics: A Senior Medical Physicist At Orlando Health Must Hold A Phd Or Equivalent Degree In Medical Physics Or A Related Field. This Advanced Education Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Perform Complex Medical Physics Tasks.

  • Board Certification: Candidates For The Senior Medical Physicist Position Must Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Radiology In Medical Physics. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Rigorous Standards Set By The Board.

  • Extensive Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Medical Physicist Is Required For The Senior Level Position At Orlando Health. This Experience Should Include Working With Advanced Radiation Therapy Techniques And Equipment, As Well As Experience In Radiation Safety And Dosimetry.

  • Leadership Skills: The Senior Medical Physicist Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Medical Physicists And Providing Guidance And Mentorship To Junior Staff. Strong Leadership Skills, Including Effective Communication And Team Management, Are Essential For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Standards: A Senior Medical Physicist At Orlando Health Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Relevant Regulatory Standards, Including Those Set By The Nuclear Regulatory Commission, The Joint Commission, And State Radiation Control Programs.
