- Oversee the management and operations of the medical staff department, including staffing, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with all accrediting bodies, including Joint Commission and CMS regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a culture of excellence within the medical staff.
- Collaborate with other departments and leadership to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison between medical staff and administration, facilitating communication and addressing concerns.
- Provide guidance and support to medical staff leaders and committees.
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote collaboration and a positive working environment.

Extensive Experience In Medical Staff Services: A Senior Director Of Medical Staff Services At Orlando Health Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Large, Multi-Specialty Healthcare System. This Experience Should Include Managing Medical Staff Credentialing And Privileging Processes, As Well As Overseeing Medical Staff Bylaws And Policies.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Regulatory Requirements For Medical Staff Services, Including Those Set By The Joint Commission, Cms, And State Licensing Agencies. This Includes Knowledge Of Accreditation Standards, Healthcare Laws And Regulations, And Industry Best Practices.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Senior Leader At Orlando Health, The Senior Director Of Medical Staff Services Must Possess Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Physicians, Hospital Executives, And Other Stakeholders. They Should Also Have Experience Managing And Leading A Team Of Medical Staff Professionals.
Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Senior Director Of Medical Staff Services Will Be Responsible For Developing And Implementing Strategic Initiatives To Improve The Efficiency And Effectiveness Of The Medical Staff Services Department.
