- Lead and oversee the infection prevention and control team, providing guidance and support to ensure all staff are following established protocols.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential infection risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to create and maintain a culture of infection prevention and control throughout the organization.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and research in infection prevention and control, and implement best practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff and healthcare professionals on infection prevention and control protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze infection data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address any issues.
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on infection prevention and control efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as a liaison with external agencies and organizations to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control regulations.
- Stay informed on emerging infectious diseases and develop strategies to prevent and control their spread within the organization.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response, specifically related to infection control.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process and protocol enhancements and implementing solutions.
- Provide support and guidance to staff and patients during outbreaks or potential infection incidents.
- Collaborate with the human resources department to ensure proper training and protocols are in place for employee health and safety.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all infection prevention and control activities and outcomes.
Extensive Experience In Infection Prevention And Control: A Senior Director Of Infection Prevention And Control At Orlando Health Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In The Field, With A Proven Track Record Of Implementing Successful Infection Control Programs.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Guidelines: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Infection Control, As Well As Accreditation Standards Set By Organizations Such As The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (Cdc) And The Joint Commission.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Senior Leader, The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, And The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team Of Infection Prevention Professionals.
Advanced Degree In Healthcare Or Related Field: A Senior Director Of Infection Prevention And Control Should Hold A Master's Degree In A Healthcare-Related Field, Such As Nursing, Epidemiology, Or Public Health, To Demonstrate A Strong Foundation Of Knowledge In The Field.
