Job Description

Orlando Health is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Director of Hospital Contracting to join our team.   1. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with hospitals and healthcare organizations to negotiate and manage contracts that support the goals and objectives of Orlando Health.
  2. Lead and oversee the entire hospital contracting process, including drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts.
  3. Analyze and evaluate contract performance data to identify areas for improvement and negotiate changes as needed.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and changes in healthcare contracting to ensure Orlando Health is compliant and competitive.
  5. Collaborate with internal departments, such as finance and legal, to ensure contracts are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  6. Develop and implement policies and procedures for effective contract management and monitor adherence to these standards.
  7. Provide guidance and mentorship to the hospital contracting team to support their professional growth and development.
  8. Communicate and negotiate with healthcare providers, payers, and other stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
  9. Monitor and assess the financial impact of contracts and make recommendations for changes or improvements as needed.
  10. Serve as a liaison between Orlando Health and external parties, representing the organization in contract negotiations and discussions.
  11. Work closely with senior leadership to develop long-term strategic plans for hospital contracting and provide regular updates on contract performance.
  12. Proactively identify potential risks and issues related to contracts and develop mitigation strategies.
  13. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to healthcare contracting.
  14. Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the hospital contracting department.
  15. Act as a subject matter expert on healthcare contracting and provide guidance and support to other departments as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Healthcare Contract Negotiation: A Senior Director Of Hospital Contracting At Orlando Health Should Possess A Strong Background In Negotiating And Managing Contracts With Health Insurance Companies, Healthcare Providers, And Other Stakeholders. This Includes A Deep Understanding Of Healthcare Reimbursement Models And Payment Structures.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: As A Senior Leader In The Organization, The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Leadership And Management Skills To Oversee A Team Of Contracting Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Set Strategic Direction, Mentor And Develop Team Members, And Ensure Effective Communication And Collaboration Within The Team.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance: Orlando Health Is A Highly Regulated Environment, And The Senior Director Of Hospital Contracting Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Healthcare Laws, Regulations, And Compliance Requirements. This Includes Knowledge Of Medicare And Medicaid Regulations, Hipaa, And Other Relevant Laws And Regulations.

  • Analytical And Financial Acumen: The Senior Director Of Hospital Contracting Is Responsible For Managing Significant Financial Resources And Must Have Strong Analytical Skills To Evaluate Contract Performance, Identify Areas For Improvement, And Make Data-Driven Decisions. They Should Also Have A Solid Understanding Of Healthcare Finance, Budgeting, And Revenue Cycle Management.

  • Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills: Building And Maintaining Successful Relationships With External Stakeholders Is Critical In This Role. The Senior Director Of Hospital Contracting Should Have Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills To Effectively Advocate For Orlando Health's Interests, Resolve Conflicts, And Build Strong Partnerships With Other Organizations. This Also Includes The Ability To Present Complex Information To Executive Leadership And Other Stakeholders In A Clear And Concise Manner.
