  1. Provide high-quality patient care: The Senior Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to cancer patients at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. This includes performing tasks such as taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and providing education and support to patients and their families.
  2. Utilize advanced medical assisting skills: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and be able to perform a wide range of tasks, including administering medications, assisting with diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate medical records.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare team: As a member of the healthcare team, the Senior Certified Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. This includes communicating patient concerns and relaying important information to the appropriate team members.
  4. Maintain a clean and safe environment: It is the responsibility of the Senior Certified Medical Assistant to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. This includes following proper infection control protocols, keeping exam rooms and equipment sanitized, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the facility.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service: The Senior Certified Medical Assistant will interact with patients and their families on a daily basis and must possess excellent customer service skills. This includes being empathetic, professional, and respectful at all times.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry standards: The healthcare industry is constantly evolving, and it is the responsibility of the Senior Certified Medical Assistant to stay current on new procedures, treatments, and technologies. This may involve attending training sessions and conferences, as well as keeping up with relevant medical journals and publications.
  7. Mentor and train junior staff: The Senior Certified Medical Assistant may be responsible for mentoring and training new or junior staff members. This includes demonstrating proper techniques and procedures, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that all team members are following best practices and protocols.
  8. Adhere to all policies and procedures: The Senior Certified Medical Assistant must adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by Orlando Health

Job Qualifications
  • Current Certification As A Medical Assistant Through A Recognized Accrediting Agency, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working As A Medical Assistant In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In An Oncology Or Cancer Care Environment.

  • Proficient Knowledge And Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology, As Well As Experience With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Systems.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Train And Mentor Junior Medical Assistants, As Well As The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team.
