1. Ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff by monitoring and patrolling the premises during night shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
2. Respond promptly and appropriately to all security-related incidents, including but not limited to medical emergencies, disturbances, theft, and vandalism.
3. Maintain a visible and vigilant presence on the premises to deter potential threats and maintain a sense of safety and security for all individuals on site.
4. Conduct thorough and accurate investigations of all security incidents, documenting findings and reporting them to the appropriate parties.
5. Enforce and uphold all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws, pertaining to security and safety.
6. Utilize security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and radios, to monitor and respond to potential security threats.
7. Collaborate with other security team members and hospital staff to develop and implement strategies for improving overall safety and security.
8. Maintain accurate and thorough records of all security-related activities, including incident reports, shift logs, and other documentation as required.
9. Assist with training and educating hospital staff on security protocols and procedures, as needed.
10. Continuously assess and evaluate security procedures and protocols, making recommendations for improvements and implementing changes as needed.
11. Remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations, utilizing effective de-escalation techniques to diffuse potentially volatile situations.
12. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, and staff, providing assistance and guidance as needed.
13. Serve as a positive representative of Orlando Health, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service at all times.
14. Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies, maintaining the highest level of discretion and professionalism in all security-related matters.
15. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Security Supervisor or hospital administration.
