  1. Provide high-quality patient care for critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
  2. Utilize critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  3. Monitor and document patient's condition and progress, and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  7. Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  11. Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced nursing staff.
  12. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and strong communication skills in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  13. Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  14. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of nursing practice.
  15. Attend and actively contribute to team meetings and interdisciplinary rounds.
  16. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
  17. Stay updated on advancements in critical care nursing and incorporate new techniques and technologies into practice.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License In The State Of Florida: This Qualification Is Essential For Any Registered Nurse To Practice In A Specific State. It Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Necessary Educational And Training Requirements To Provide Safe And Competent Care.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Are Both Required Certifications For An Rn Working In The Medical Intensive Care Unit (Micu). These Certifications Demonstrate The Nurse's Ability To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Critical Care.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Setting: Working In An Intensive Care Unit Requires A High Level Of Skill, Knowledge, And Experience. A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Setting, Preferably In An Icu, Is Necessary To Ensure The Nurse Is Well-Equipped To Handle The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Of The Micu.

  • Critical Care Certification: While Not Always Required, Having A Certification In Critical Care Nursing, Such As The Ccrn, Can Demonstrate The Nurse's Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Critically Ill Patients. This Qualification Is Highly Desirable For An Rn Working In The Micu.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: Many Healthcare Organizations, Including Orlando Health, Prefer Or Require Rns To Have A Bsn Degree. This Higher Level Of Education Provides Nurses With A More Comprehensive Understanding Of Patient Care And Prepares Them For Leadership Roles Within The Healthcare Team.
